I got the cherry twizzlers at my desk and we are ready to get to this folks. I finished last week with a 9-4 record bringing my season total to 76-27. Come on picks, it is time to shine bright this week.
I had to upset picks last week and neither panned out for me. Atlanta was beat down by a Cowboys team that looked decent all game and Minnesota fell short in the 4th quarter. I was very surprised that the Giants lost at home to the Cardinal’s, did not see that one coming.
Oakland players and fans have to be pretty pissed off at the comments made by QB Russell. He claims the first 3 turnovers were not his fault. Really? Then whose fault are they? Your parents maybe. Did your Mommy not remove the booby soon enough when you were a baby?!? Give me a break man, grow the **** up and play some football. Attention Al Davis, it might be time to move on and get rid of this kid while you have some dignity left…wait…never mind.
So this week the Panthers announced they will stick with Delhomme at QB and Tennessee will switch over to Vince Young at QB. Sorry Carolina, but the season is in the bag and has been closed…move on. Tennessee this is a smart choice. Get your young QB some playing time while the season is still young and you can coach him without hurting the season any.
Sorry but this is it for the week folks, I am tired and this weather has burned me out so on to the picks.
Houston Texans (4-3) at Buffalo Bills (3-4) - Houston
Houston’s offense will score too much for Buffalo to keep up with.
Cleveland Browns (1-6) at Chicago Bears (3-3) - Chicago
Cleveland, it is just sorry to watch this team sometimes. Chicago is coming off a horrible game from last week and they need to try and secure their jobs and play well. hey Cutler, quit crying and play some damn football already.
Seattle Seahawks (2-4) at Dallas Cowboys (4-2) - Dallas
Dallas got it going last week and I do not see them slowing down against the Seahawks. Look for a lot of passing yards this week from Romo.
St. Louis Rams (0-7) at Detroit Lions (1-5) - Detroit
The game for the first pick next year comes down to a field-goal in this match-up. Sorry St Louis, I got nothing for you this week.
Minnesota Vikings (6-1) at Green Bay Packers (4-2) - Minnesota
Farve goes home to Green Bay for part 2 of the Revenge Year. I would look for Taylor to redeem himself and for Peterson to get some serious yards so Farve can throw at will. In the end Packers fans will be confused as to who to cheer for…
Jacksonville Jaguars (3-3) at Tennessee Titans (0-6) - Tennessee
I think Tennessee will get their first win under their belt with the help of a mobile QB. Look for Vince to run and create passing lanes.
San Francisco 49ers (3-3) at Indianapolis Colts (6-0) - Indianapolis
Manning is playing with the most command of his offense in NFL history. No matter who you put on the field with him he makes it work. San Francisco is in for a long day watching Manning pass with little effort.
Miami Dolphins (2-4) at New York Jets (4-3) - NY Jets
NY Jets will force the passing game of Miami and it will fall apart. Sanchez will hand off and pass short for the victory.
New York Giants (5-2) at Philadelphia Eagles (4-2) - Philadelphia
Great match-up but look for the Giants to drop their third straight against the Eagles.
Carolina Panthers (2-4) at Arizona Cardinals (4-2) - Arizona
Not even going to be close. Arizona walks all over the Kitties and watch for the WR explosion as he cannot take it anymore with Delhomme at QB.
Oakland Raiders (2-5) at San Diego Chargers (3-3) - San Diego
Hey, Russell…yes…you, the overgrown Ogre looking QB in silver and black…YOU SUCK! And it is your fault for the turnovers. San Diego will destroy the Raiders this week.
Denver Broncos (6-0) at Baltimore Ravens (3-3) - Baltimore
I hate to call this but I see Denver getting their first loss of the season. Baltimore is pissed off and they know if they lose this weekend their playoff hopes start to go away real quick. Close game but the Ravens pull it off.
Atlanta Falcons (4-2) at New Orleans Saints (6-0) - New Orleans
This is going to be a great game as well but the Saints have too much firepower and Atlanta will not be able to keep up.

I know I have been lacking on my posts and rants other than football but times are tough and the tough have to get to work. ;-) I did however come across a video of a mascot dance at a basketball game that was freaking great. Enjoy.

That was a great weekend of football again. I finished 10-4 with a combined 67-23 for the year. Man this has been a tough year on my picks. There have been some exciting games all year and this last weekend did not disappoint. We have 4 undefeated teams in the league (Denver, Indianapolis, Minnesota and New Orleans) and 3 winless teams (St Louis, Tampa Bay and Tennessee). This last weekend also saw some great plays and some not so great plays.
Let me start this off with this last weekends worst play of the year and quite possibly one of the worst plays in NFL history. The Carolina Panthers’ Dante Wesley’s hit on Tampa Bay’s return man Clifton Smith. Wesley, you a punk and a coward with Steve Smith a close second place and the NFL in third place. I will be honest, the NFL suspending him for 1 game was a joke. That was a brutal and punk ass play by Wesley and could have caused some serious damage. There should be a zero tolerance for plays like that. 4 games for your first infraction and 8 for your second. if you are dumb enough to commit a third, goodbye. You can now go play in the CFL or the UFL. “I was just trying to make a play,” Wesley said after the game, a 28-21 Carolina victory. “You can check my record. … I’ve never really tried to hurt anybody.” BULLS**T! You left your feet and launched yourself at his head/neck with your forearm/head/shoulder. That was a low down ghetto street ball play and you know it. Then of course you have the coaches reaction to the incident. Coach John Fox said after watching the film Monday he didn’t believe Wesley was trying to injure Smith, who did not return to the game. “It’s not intentional. It’s not done maliciously,” Fox said. “You’ve got to make a split-second decision. It’s no different than driving to work and putting your brakes on. Sometimes accidents happen.” Accidents??? WTF are you smoking. Yes, you have a split second but when the ball hits the ground after the return man gets plowed through that is not a split second…that was sending a message. Fox you are a moron and Wesley you are a punk ass little b**ch. Then we throw in Steve Smith. He sees a fight break out and of course he comes running over to get in the mix. After the game you dog your team and dodge the idea that you went on the field to get into the fight yourself. Steve Smith, if you want to make a difference and help this team…step up and offer suggestions and offer to coach the younger guys. Yes, your QB is dog crap right now but think about the fans and the other players. You are the veteran and you have to set the example. Yeah, it sucks you are not as good as you would like to be but just think, you could be a receiver for the Titans. Okay enough said about the Carolina Kittens.
Washington…oh Washington. 2-4 with an offense that could not scare the local Pee Wee football squad in the neighborhood. Zorn, pack your bags and move on man because it is getting ugly and you are the scape goat. I know quitting is not the answer but man, it might be the best way out. (word is he almost quit when it was announced that Lewis will be making the calls on offense) You have lost your duties of calling the offense and you will soon be checking tickets at the gate. You have taken on way too much and have tried to do everything yourself. Word is that the owner tried to replace you this last week/weekend and he was turned down. Maybe Mike Shanahan is smarter than the average bear. My guess is that Washington will get Coach Cowher and he will turn them into an old school ground and pound team. Coach Shanahan will end up in Dallas and Coach Gruden will end up in either Buffalo, Carolina or Tennessee. This will be very interesting to watch and see which coaches are dumped and who takes their place. Advice to Sherman Lewis, spread the offense and get the running game back in line so Campbell can throw the ball around to everyone.
Now let’s discuss Tennessee. You are 0-5 going into New England and then get whacked 59-0 to fall to 0-6. Your team gave up and complained about the snow all day. I watched as players half hearted the plays, jogged instead of run and missed tackles to stay away from injury. I truly believe that Jeff Fisher is a damn good coach and if he does not send heads flying after this last game he is a fool. Make a damn statement and punish your players like they are punishing you. You still have 10 games left and that is a lifetime when you are losing. I know keeping Collins in is a statement tot eh team but at this point, let Vince Young play and let all the younger guys play. Make some of the veterans ride the pine and watch the young guys play for a position on next years team. The offense is awful and the defense is disgusting. Nothing is working so it is time to make some changes.
Now let’s discuss some more upbeat topics. I watched the Vikings hang on and beat the Ravens in an incredible game and at the same time watched as the Giants got whooped by the best team in the NFC hands down, the Saints. The I watched as the wife cheered on her Broncos on Monday night as they beat the Chargers while throwing Rivers like a rag doll. The Vikings defense has glimpses of promise then they look bad and just beat down tired. They are a work in progress and the offense still claims to be getting better. 33 points on the Ravens is damn good…but if you want to get better then by all means let’s see it. Drew Brees and the Saints looked very good on all three sides of the ball as they opened a can on the Giants. if they continue to roll on offense and roll on defense I am not sure anyone can beat them right now. Then we have the brown, white and yellow Broncos making everyone eat their words each week. I hear “experts” say this is the week we see the true Broncos. You are right, the true Broncos are damn good and damn scary. The one area of concern was the special teams play and Eddie Royal put that to bed with 2 returns for touchdowns. I cannot wait to see how the rest of this season continues.
My Minnesota Vikings rant for the week - Matt Millen you are a jackass to say the least. You said that the Vikings are lucky and horrible on defense but in the same segment you said that the Ravens defense played better than the Vikings in their game. That made zero sense man. The Vikings gave up less points than the Ravens head to head. The Ravens gave up another 100 yard rusher…matter of fact the Ravens did not even get 100 yards rushing combined. Yes, the Vikes fell apart at the end of the game and it is going to happen every once in a while. The teams came out with almost the exact same amount of yards total and the score reflected that. Neither defense forced a turnover and both teams had sacks. Neither defense played well at all. They each had their moments as well as the offense each had their moments. But to say that the Vikes run defense is the worst part of their game is just stupid. Without Winfield their pass defense is the worst part of their defense. There is a reason you never made the Lions anything but bottom scrapers. You do not know anywhere near as much about football as you think you do. Do some homework before you crack on a team and then do some more homework. I have heard you make statements about teams all year long and you are a moron. Yes I am a die hard Vikings fan and have always been one. I will always admit when they do something that is dumb or foolish. Yes they need some work on both sides of the ball still and that is okay for me. They are 6-0 and are a work in progress. That speaks very well for the coaching staff and players that they can find ways to win. Let me guess, the Lions were the best 0-16 team in football and they lost by dumb luck…it had nothing to do with being out-coached or outplayed?!? So who is the coach of the Titans defense? The best move the Lions made was firing you and then starting from ground zero. At least they admitted they were wrong and needed a clean slate to work with. You on the other hand still feel like you had a work in progress and it was close to coming together.
Okay, enough bitching and whining on my part and enough bashing professional football players and coaches. They are doing something I only wish I could do for a living. Let’s get to this weeks picks!
Chicago Bears (3-2) at Cincinnati Bengals (4-2) - Cincinnati
Right now Cutler is throwing way too many INTs in the red zone and he still looks a little confused at times. I know this is a growing pain for him in Chicago but I have a feeling it is still looming. Cincinnati on the other hand is ready to prove that they were not a 4-1 fluke going into last week. They got beat but I bet they pull it together at home and at the same time get that running game going.
Green Bay Packers (3-2) at Cleveland Browns (1-5) - Green Bay
Green Bay is rested and ready to make a run at the NFC North and Cleveland just happens to be in the way. Look for Rogers to light it up with a small portion of help from his running game. Cleveland will fall again and it is getting very warm under the seat of Womangini. Just think Cleveland fans…Minnesota offered up 2, yes 2, 1st round picks for Brady Quinn last year. Talk about a sign from the God’s that Cleveland turned that offer down. Minnesota won the division last year and then signed Farve. Cleveland on the other hand…well they keep losing.
Atlanta Falcons (4-1) at Dallas Cowboys (3-2) - Atlanta
This could be one of the better games of the week but my guess is that the Cowboys will disappoint again and the Falcons will walk away happy with the victory. Dallas is another town with a very hot seat under Coach Phillips.
San Diego Chargers (2-3) at Kansas City Chiefs (1-5) - San Diego
San Diego losing last week to Denver in San Diego was a heart breaker and might end up being a back breaker. I doubt they have any troubles with KC…at least they better not. If the Chargers continue to lose I am not sure how much longer Turner will keep his job either. I am telling you folks, there is a lot of hot seats in the NFL and if teams keep losing the list will grow longer.
New York Jets (3-3) at Oakland Raiders (2-4) - NY Jets
Oakland may have beat the Eagles last week but I doubt the Jet’s defense will allow that to happen to them. Sanchez looked pretty bad last week along with his sorry WR Edwards. They will rebound a bit on offense but still struggle with turnovers. Look for the Jet’s to establish a solid ground attack this week and keep at it to help relax Sanchez. Raider fans, sorry but you will be calling for some players heads after this game.
Indianapolis Colts (5-0) at St. Louis Rams (0-6) - Indianapolis
Manning gets a week to rest and prepare for the Rams. This is just not fair at all and he knows it. Look for the Colts to run it up and Manning will look to show his form so everyone stops talking about Brees and Brady.
New Orleans Saints (5-0) at Miami Dolphins (2-3) - New Orleans
One thing the Dolphins will try to do is get their running game going and going well. This will be the only way to slow down Brees. Brees will not allow this to happen as he would like to show the Dolphin’s medical staff how stupid they really are. Saints will put up another 40 spot while the Dolphins struggle to keep up.
Arizona Cardinals (3-2) at New York Giants (5-1) - NY Giants
This could be the game of the week and I am not sure the Giants are happy with their loss last week to the Saints. Look for the Giants to get their ground and pound on as the Cardinal’s struggle to protect Warner. This could be a shoot out but I have a feeling the Giants will not allow that and will pressure Warner like crazy.
Minnesota Vikings (6-0) at Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2) - Minnesota
I know, I know. I pick the Vikings every week. Of course I do, I am a fan and believe they can beat any team out there any given Sunday. I have a feeling the Vikings defense wants to get some respect back after falling apart last week. Farve will need to continue his great play but the Vikings need a consistent and solid running attack this week to beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh.
New England Patriots (4-2) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-6) - New England
Can Brady do it two weeks in a row…with the Bucs trying to stop him…yeah he can eat these guys alive. The Patriots will continue to roll as they chase the Colts and Broncos for the AFC crown.
Buffalo Bills (2-4) at Carolina Panthers (2-3) - Carolina
Boring. I am taking the Panthers cause they are home and that is the only reason.
San Francisco 49ers (3-2) at Houston Texans (3-3) - Houston
Unless the 49ers can stop the Texans passing attack, this game will get out of hand quick. Look for the Texans to open up the air attack and shut down the 49ers ground game.
Philadelphia Eagles (3-2) at Washington Redskins (2-4) - Philadelphia
This is a sorry Monday Night game and really the only thing it has going for it is that the Eagles need a win badly. They lost in Oakland last week and they are pissed as hell too. Washington has a new play caller, Sherman Lewis (B 10, B 10). Sorry that was my bingo joke for the week. Lewis was calling bingo games at an old folks home until the Redskins called him up to call their offense. How bad is that??? You lose your duties of calling the offense in the NFL to a bingo caller. OUCH!
Good luck everyone!

Wow, I stuck it up last week going 8-6 bringing my combined record to 57-19. Still holding strong at 75% correct but not good enough. Last week we saw some interesting things happen as Baltimore lost at home to Cincinnati and San Francisco lost at home to Atlanta. Then to top it all off, the Bills lost at home to Cleveland…CLEVELAND! I am sorry but the coaching staff in Buffalo should be working on their resumes ASAP because they look like crap and they have been outplayed ever since their meeting with New England. By the way Buffalo, how is that TO deal working? For that matter, how is that Buffalo thing working out for you TO?!?
Denver continued their great season as they defeated New England in Denver with another solid day by the offense and a stellar day by the defense. Minnesota beat a sorry St Louis team and the NY Giants beat down Oakland.
Tampa Bay would be better off with Chucky coaching still but he is much better off not coaching. He will have a pick of the litter this next season along with Cowher, Shanahan and possibly Holmgren. I can promise you this, at least 4 teams will have new head coaches next year. My best guess is that Oakland, Washington, Buffalo and Dallas will be the 4 teams with Tennessee and Cleveland right behind them.
Without further ramblings, here is this weeks match-ups.
Chicago Bears (3-1) at Atlanta Falcons (3-1) - Atlanta
I think this could be a huge match-up with a close ending but I think the Falcons defense will do just enough to win this one. Could be one of the great TE match-ups of the week.
Houston Texans (2-3) at Cincinnati Bengals (4-1) - Cincinnati
I am on the bandwagon with the Bengals until they fall apart…if they do. Houston looks good on offense but they seem to lack the whole game experience, offense/defense/special teams. The Bengals on the other hand are looking very strong on both sides of the ball and their special teams play looks good.
Detroit Lions (1-4) at Green Bay Packers (2-2) - Green Bay
The Packers lost to Minnesota and then had a bye week, you bet they are still pissed. Detroit, sorry but you may only pull off about 2 to 3 wins this season. Can you imagine saying to someone that you went out and won 3 times as many games as you did the previous year and only get 3 wins. Ouch.
Philadelphia Eagles (3-1) at Oakland Raiders (1-4) - Philadelphia
This is a scary game for the Eagles. They may get sucked into Raider nation and play to their level and lose but I doubt it. Just saying though…it could happen. Look for McNabb to go off this week and look for the Eagles defense to rip apart the Raider offense.
Baltimore Ravens (3-2) at Minnesota Vikings (5-0) - Minnesota
WOW! Two top tier defenses going at it. Two top tier TEs going at it. A second year semi-mobile QB versus the ageless wonder Farve who could not out run a dead skunk. Don’t get me wrong, Farve can still move but he will need wheels this week to slow down the Raven blitz. The Ravens are pissed, the Vikings are riding high…something is bound to crash this weekend. If Peterson gets running this will be a long day for the Ravens. I think the Vikings running game and their defense win this game.
Tennessee Titans (0-5) at New England Patriots (3-2) - New England
Tennessee, start Vince Young ASAP and start working on your future. Your season is lost whether you want to believe that or not. New England is not going to lose at home and Brady is not going to let Moss sit that still. Look for the Patriots to go off this week and put up at least a 31 spot.
New York Giants (5-0) at New Orleans Saints (4-0) - New Orleans
I am not sure how this game will go because so many things could happen. I know Shockey wants revenge and I know the Saints want to continue their roll. On the other side, the Giants want to continue but I am not sure they can. Eli will be playing on field turf and the Saints will blitz to get him moving. I do not think the Giants can keep up with the Saints this weekend.
Buffalo Bills (1-4) at New York Jets (3-2) - NY Jets
The Jets are pissed and the Bills are pissed on. The Jets will take out a lot of frustration on the Bills this weekend and look for TO to get rocked hard along with Edwards. Goodnight Bills.
Cleveland Browns (1-4) at Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2) - Pittsburgh
Um, Cleveland I know you won last week and all but this is Pittsburgh and in Pittsburgh and Troy is back. Steelers roll without even breaking a sweat.
Arizona Cardinals (2-2) at Seattle Seahawks (2-3) - Seattle
Look for Seattle to continue their roll from last week. I can see another bloody forehead and another scared opponent. The Cardnials offense will struggle and the Seahawks offense will roll and roll well. Close game in the end but it is all for nothing as Seattle hangs on for the win.
Carolina Panthers (1-3) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-5) - Carolina
I really do not care but I think the Panthers have more than the Bucs can handle. Again, who cares?!?
Kansas City Chiefs (0-5) at Washington Redskins (2-3) - Kansas City
KC has played their opponents well lately and Washington has looked silly all year. Look for KC to fight and scratch and claw out their first win. After this victory, the ownership of the Redskins will get very restless and very angry. I am sensing a head coach getting sent to the pasture soon after this game.
St. Louis Rams (0-5) at Jacksonville Jaguars (2-3) - Jacksonville
The Jaguars will regroup after their butt whooping last week. Thank god for teams like ST Louis.
Denver Broncos (5-0) at San Diego Chargers (2-2) - Denver
This is going to be a great game. The Broncos will remember last year and with a new defense and a new coach, look for Denver to take this one and continue their roll. With this victory they will have a 4 game lead in the division. To have a 4 game lead after 6 weeks is crazy to say the least.

Please accept this post as a message from the general public and one very outspoken fan of professional sports and the American People. You suck. I have watched you go from a flashy tie wearing, decent comment speaking guy to a complete moron with s**t in his mouth and hands and you fling it like it was beads at Mardi Gras. I actually used to listen to you and think maybe this guy has a point. Then I started to grow up and realize what a complete idiotic jack@$$ you are. Every once in a while you come out with some decent speech or rant and it sounds good but then you follow it up with complete diarrhea of the mouth. Being a huge professional sports fan I was angry and sad at your comments when you tried your ESPN Countdown gig about 6 years ago. Now that you are attempting to buy a stake in the St Louis Rams, the NFL had better stand up and point your @$$ to the closest KKK rally and send you packing.
Let’s take a look back at what you suggested on ESPN Countdown. You suggested Eagles black quarterback Donovan McNabb was overrated by a sports media concerned about looking politically correct. Are you kidding me man? McNabb is a solid QB with a solid career and has numerous charity events and groups he dedicates his time to. The guy was drafted and booed like there was no tomorrow yet he stuck it out and fought through everything. Now the city of Philadelphia loves their QB and can appreciate everything he has done for their football team.
Do you think that McNabb has zero friends in the NFL? If you were allowed to buy into the Rams you would get boycotted by just about every player in the league. These guys are a family and stick by each other. Just ask Michael Vick if his brotherhood of NFL players stick by each other. The NFL does not need you or care about you. What the NFL needs is leaders and mentors, not jerk @$$, moronic s**t flinging numb-nuts like yourself.
Want to keep this debate up? Then let’s move forward with your brilliance of speech.
Statement about our President Obama: “Adolf Hitler, like Barack Obama, ruled by dictate.” - Holy s**t @$$munch! I may not be sold on Obama or some of his political agendas but to compare a husband/father/leader to one of the worst human beings of all time. That is just flat out stupid and uneducated of a statement. If Obama were anything like Hitler, my guess is that you would have been cooked well done on a nice over-sized oven by now.
Statement about Michael J. Fox’s struggle with Parkinson’s disease: “He is exaggerating the effects of the disease. He’s moving all around and shaking and it’s purely an act… This is really shameless of Michael J Fox.”- Wow man, seriously?!? So he is faking his disease and faking the shakes. Do you actually know anyone with Parkinson’s disease? My Grandmother on my Father’s side of the family has it and she shakes without any control what so ever. She is aging faster than you can imagine and to think that someone would say she is faking…we need to talk face to face to settle this one. You and I need to put on the gloves, step into the cage and settle this one like men. I really hope for this comment you get some life threatening disease that takes you down so someone can come out and say you are faking. Maybe then and only then will you ever understand what that comment felt like.
Statement to a black caller on his radio show: “Take that bone out of your nose and call me back.”- Yet another reason I would steer clear of the NFL if I were you. Where I work we actually do work in Africa and have an African working here in the States. I can admit I have never seen or heard of anyone wearing a bone in their nose. Now I have seen tribes people in Africa/South America/Central America that do body dis-figuration’s of all kinds but they do not represent the average person from those regions. If you want to see bone wearing folks, look right here in the States at some of the younger generation running around. They disfigure their ears, eyes, noses, mouths and anything else they can stick a piece of metal/bone through.
Statement about the NAACP: “The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies.”- Can you say stereotype @$$hole?!? So now black people are the only people that rob liquor stores??? So all the white/hispanic/latino/asian people in prison/jail never robbed a liquor store before? Weird, I thought robberies were committed by every race there is. But what do I know, you are the all mighty and all knowing “Master Race”. Do you think this comment will sit well with NFL players?
Statement about the Abu Ghraib prison abuse scandal: “This is no different than what happens at the Skull and Bones initiation, and we’re going to ruin people’s lives over it, and we’re going to hamper our military effort, and then we are going to really hammer them because they had a good time.” - Just because the enemy commits horrible acts against our men and women during war does not give us the right to act a fool. Did they hurt anyone doing this? No. But was it a disgrace to us as a nation? Yes. 99% of our men and women in the armed forces are great people with a great head on their shoulders. Having a good time during war is having a drink with the troops; going to a USO show; calling home; getting letters from home.
Last but not least is your statement about the NFL: “Look, let me put it to you this way: the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons.”- The icing on the cake my man. I am sure that every single player in the NFL and retired from the NFL thinks this is a good and okay statement to make. Two thirds of the NFL is black and yes, there have been some morons to join the league (PacMan Jones* and Michael Vick** are great examples) but they do not represent the average player in the NFL. These guys work damn hard at what they do. They entertain us and they break our hearts. They work damn hard at charity work and good will gestures. To associate the black players in the NFL to gang bangers and thugs is flat out stupid.
I once saw an episode of Southpark where everyone figured out how to crap from their mouths. Listening to you and watching what you do I can now understand where the episode came from. You have so much s**t flowing from your mouth it is disgusting. Remember one thing Rush, you do not represent the average American like you say you do and you will never be able to live these statements down. You made them, you live with them. Stay out of the NFL and away from our children.
* - I chose PacMan Jones because he is a moron and a thug wanna-be. He flashed his cash, when he had some and thought he was the top dog and King of the World. Funny how fast your World crumbles when you do not take care of it and let your so called friends help run your life.
** - I chose Michael Vick because he was a leader of a very strong underground World. He is trying to make amends and that is great. He is a gifted athlete and only time will tell if he has actually changed his life for the better. I would actually shake his hand and tell him congrats and wish him the best. I for one understand what getting a second chance at life is about.
To any and all NFL folks reading this. Rush Limbaugh is the modern day Anti-Christ and he would hurt the NFL more than help it. Keep him as far away as possible and find a solid hard working group of investors to work with.

4 weeks have passed in the NFL and it is shaping up to be a great season with some great battles. The Sunday night and Monday night games were epic to say the least and lived up to be the hype that everyone was expecting. I watched a total of about 6 games this last weekend and they were all good games from start to finish. I went 12-2 last week bringing my season total to 49-13. Not bad considering this is the NFL where anyone can win at any given moment.
I can already hear the crys for Buffalo, Dallas, St Louis, Oakland, Kansas City, Cleveland, Tennessee, Tampa Bay, Carolina and Washington to fire their coaches. I can agree on Oakland, Buffalo, Carolina and Cleveland. Each one of these coaches is over matched every week. Washington is a sad story to say the least. The owner wanted a new coach…that failed. The owner wanted a new QB…that failed. Now they both are out there playing for nothing but pride and it does not appear to be much pride to say the least.
Carolina is just a struggling team with some hate flowing in the locker room. That is a recipe for disaster and will make for a very long season.
I am not sure what to think of Tennessee either…is it the coach?…is it the play calling?…is it the defense?…is it the QB play?…I would say yes, yes, yes and yes. You are now 0-4 with a division leader at 4-0 and not looking back. Put in the young QB, Young. Like that double word use? What additional harm could Vince Young do at this point? Play him and let him mold into a QB with this team and maybe salvage a 4 or 6 win season. I like Jeff Fisher but I think he is trying to win with an aged QB and a sorry defense. I am curious though…how did that Albert Hansworth loss to the Redskins affect you anyways??? Ouch.
Let’s talk about Cleveland now. Mangini, you are an idiot to say the least. Your play calling on both sides of the ball sucks…your QB switch-o-rama is idiotic and you have become the laughing stock of the NFL. This reminds me of the team that moved to Baltimore actually. The team started to fail and some fans were pissed and the owner wanted a new scene and fan base to look at…do you smell a move to LA coming? I do.
Denver, Indianapolis, Minnesota, NY Giants and New Orleans are all undefeated. If my brain is correct, this is the first time in NFL history there has been this many teams start out at 4-0. Fair weather Denver fans hated the Cutler trade, hated Josh McDaniel’s and were pissed about the Marshall saga…now they love everything there is about Denver. Colts fans are just used to this except Manning appears to be playing better than usual…if that was even possible. Giants fans are happy but scared at the same time. Is Eli healthy or is he hurt bad enough he would miss part of the season? New Orleans has found some defense and that scares me to death. With Brees throwing well and the trio of backs running the ball this team is scary as hell. Minnesota, well I am a life long Viking fan and always will be so I am not sure how to look at this team. Can Farve stay healthy? Can Peterson carry the load and continue with his excellence? Only time will tell this year.
Farve - I have to talk about this guy this week. Here is a guy who turns 40 this coming Saturday and he is now the first QB ever to defeat all 32 NFL teams. If you think about that, that is amazing as all get out. I mean how many QB’s will ever even get the chance to play all 32 teams, let alone beat them. I grew up a die hard Viking fan and I am still one to this day. I hated/despised Farve for 16 years and now have to root for him. Once you get to know the real Farve, and not the “media blown out of proportion” Farve you actually understand the guy. Yes, he wanted to stick it to the Packers but at the same time he still has skills and a drive to win. He blocks, he throws, he runs and he leads. If only other young QBs out there would learn from him. *hint hint* Mr. Russell! I read a story yesterday about Farve that made me really think twice about my hate of him and it helped me understand who he really was. Great story Steve Aschburner! I admit it, Farve is growing on me. I cannot believe I just said that.
Okay, let’s get on to this week’s NFL picks for Week 5. We have some good matchups to keep an eye on and a couple of “whoop de do” games. Check the NFL Odds for this week!
Cleveland Browns (0-4) at Buffalo Bills (1-3) - Buffalo
Look for Buffalo to turn it on this week. Trent Edwards will get on track and TO will start a new reception streak. I am just not liking the Cleveland team and losing Edwards to the Jets was a mistake. They may feel like it helps their chemistry but I know the truth. He was traded to keep the Cavaliers LeBron James happy. At this point no one messes with the king in Cleveland or anyone he is a friend to.
New England Patriots (3-1) at Denver Broncos (4-0) - New England
I have bet against the Patriots two weeks in a row and I am not sure I can do that again. I know this is in Denver but with the weapons that Brady has I am not sure the Broncos can beat the Patriots. I know some of my friends are not going to like this pick but I have to go with my gut. If Denver wins this game the AFC could be in for a long year with the Broncos running the table. Man this is a tough game! I know the Broncos defense is awesome, but I am not sure they can continue this run of shutting everyone down. Mike Nolan has done a great job but this is his first real test.
Pittsburgh Steelers (2-2) at Detroit Lions (1-3) - Pittsburgh
I am sorry Detroit but you will begin a new losing streak with the Steelers in town. Their offense is on fire and their defense is weak but not weak enough that the Lions can do anything about it. Culpepper will more than likely start in this game as the Lions do not want to jeopardize their franchise QB at this point. If I am wrong and Stafford plays, they better protect him like their only child. Long day for the Lions, very long day.
Indianapolis Colts (4-0) at Tennessee Titans (0-4) - Indianapolis
The Colts are rolling and I have no doubt they will continue to roll. The Titans look terrible and they need a change at QB. Let Young play and get some more experience on the field. Collins is done and over with but I have a feeling the coaches do not see that yet. You fall to 0-5 and you can kiss your post season hopes goodbye. Manning will play very well and pick apart the sorry @$$ secondary of the Titans…I smell some long plays for the Colts.
Dallas Cowboys (2-2) at Kansas City Chiefs (0-4) - Dallas
Dallas got beat last week by a very solid Bronco defense. The Bronco offense got just enough once again to win. Dallas will not let this settle very well and will come out and beat up the Cowboys with a smash mouth running game and Romo will remember the downs this week. Sorry Romo but you forgot and it was obvious…admit it. I do have to thank Romo as I played against him in Fantasy Football last week and he scored a huge 5 points. hehe Anyways, the Chiefs are not looking good and I am not sure they have anything in the tank to slow down the Cowboys.
Minnesota Vikings (4-0) at St. Louis Rams (0-4) - Minnesota
This is a walk in the park game for the Vikings and should not be an issue for them. That of course can spell a major disaster if they are not careful. I see All Day Peterson getting right back on track and the Viking defense will continue to roll with a huge stop on the Rams. These guys have gone from the greatest show on turf to…well…I am not sure. I think they need to draft a franchise type QB and rebuild. Sorry Rams, you get blasted for the second week in a row.
Oakland Raiders (1-3) at New York Giants (4-0) - NY Giants
Dear Oakland/Al Davis, you are a moron and an idiot. Your head coach is at best a mean line coach and your “franchise” QB is a third string LB at best. You were supposed to throw plays at him he could understand. If you truly did this…WOW! He looked like an over-grown PeeWee QB playing an NFL defense last week. Even if Eli does not play (my guess is he will play until the 28-0 mark) David Carr will keep the ground and pound alive with Jacobs. Look for Jacobs to run all day and all night and score 2 touchdowns.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-4) at Philadelphia Eagles (2-1) - Philadelphia
This is the perfect game to bring McNabb back. He can play easy and hand off and make easy throws and still beat the Bucs. I see Vick getting about 15+ plays in this game to help ease McNabb back into the game. The Bucs have decided it is rebuild/future time so the games really do not matter too much for them at this point.
Houston Texans (2-2) at Arizona Cardinals (1-2) - Arizona
Arizona has started very slow and has looked very weak but they did this last year as well. Look for Warner to kick it up a notch and put some points on the board. Houston looks good on offense and this could very well become a shoot out but I am not sure they can keep up with the Cardinal’s passing attack.
Atlanta Falcons (2-1) at San Francisco 49ers (3-1) - San Francisco
The 49er’s are looking very solid right now and their only loss was on the road in Minnesota. Their defense is looking better and better each week so look for them to pound the Falcons all day. Atlanta has looked a bit sluggish and I am not sure going to San Fran will help.
Jacksonville Jaguars (2-2) at Seattle Seahawks (1-3) - Jacksonville
I was going back and fourth on this game and I came to the conclusion that even if Hasselback plays he will not be that much of a difference. Look for Jacksonville to continue last week’s role and play hard and tough and smash the Seahawks.
Washington Redskins (2-2) at Carolina Panthers (0-3) - Carolina
Carolina will get their first win this weekend and the talks of Washington firing their coach will ignite big time after they lose to the Panthers. I do like Campbell at QB for Washington but I hate the play calling. Plus when your running game is sputtering that does not help either. Carolina wins and makes it look easy.
Cincinnati Bengals (3-1) at Baltimore Ravens (3-1) - Baltimore
This is a huge game and could be one of the best for the weekend. The Bengals only loss was to the Holy Grail pass to Stokly and the Ravens only loss was to some very bad officiating calls and a dropped 4th down pass. This very well could have been a 4-0 vs 4-0 game. So I am actually looking at it that way. Look for the Ravens to continue to roll and look for them to play some serious defense. In the end the score will reflect a smashing by the Ravens but the Bengals will show they have something in them to look forward to in the next few weeks. Great game.
New York Jets (3-1) at Miami Dolphins (1-3) - NY Jets
I am looking forward to this game because I want to see what the Jet’s defense can do against the Dolphins running game. Without a passing threat the Dolphins are in trouble this week. Look for the Jet’s to throw heavy and run hard. The winner in this game will be the Jet’s defense.
Good luck everyone and for those of you who keep passing me messages about how you have pocketed some dough with my picks…spread the wealth you turds.
Cheers.

Well the awesome start came to a halt last week. I went 11-5 last week which brings my season total to 37-11. Still holding strong but not strong enough. I have to admit though, Arizona looked very bad against the Indianapolis Colts defense; Houston lost another game at home to someone they should have beat down; Pittsburgh lost in Ohio for the first time in Roth-less-burger’s career; Oakland looked like…um…well crap to say the least. I am guessing that the Raiders are wishing they still had Garcia on the sidelines, oh wait, he could be since he was just cut by the Eagles. *ring ring* “Hello, this is Jeff Garcia speaking…nope sorry Al Bundy, I mean Davis, not coming back. I am heading to Miami where they will need a mobile QB and actually only use the QB about 40% of the game anyways.” *click*
This is the last week before the bye weeks kick off so some teams are scrambling to hold strong and keep people healthy. Here we go!
Detroit Lions (1-2) at Chicago Bears (2-1) - Chicago
Detroit may have one a game finally but they will not make it a winning streak. Chicago is going to be too much to handle this week. Cutler is getting warmer and I feel a game from Forte finally.
Cincinnati Bengals (2-1) at Cleveland Browns (0-3) - Cincinnati
Cleveland, seriously??? Mangina (new name for Mangini) is a fool and has no idea of how to get his troops ready for battle. The players have zero trust in him and the QB situation is a joke.
Dallas Cowboys (2-1) at Denver Broncos (3-0) - Denver
Very tough game to call but with Dallas’s running game on the brink of falling apart at the wheels (injuries) I cannot see Romo picking apart the Bronco secondary.
Seattle Seahawks (1-2) at Indianapolis Colts (3-0) - Indianapolis
No question. manning looks great this year and he is leading one of the greatest machines this season. It amazes me how well every WR looks when they have Manning as their QB.
New York Giants (3-0) at Kansas City Chiefs (0-3) - NY Giants
The G Men will roll all day long. Look for a 225+ yard rushing attack from Bradshaw/Jacobs. Also look for every single KC QB to be half dead at the end of this game.
Buffalo Bills (1-2) at Miami Dolphins (0-3) - Miami
This is tough with the Dolphins losing their QB but at the same time the Bills are without 6 starters. Look for Miami to run every single running play/wildcat play they have and do not have. They will wear down the Bills in this game.
Baltimore Ravens (3-0) at New England Patriots (2-1) - Baltimore
I hate this pick because I went against the Patriots last week but I am not sure anyone has an answer for the Ravens yet. Their defense flies around and their offense looks very good with a 2nd year QB leading the way.
New York Jets (3-0) at New Orleans Saints (3-0) - New Orleans
Sanchez looks great so far this year but the Saints have way too much fire power for the Jets to keep up. This will be the Jet’s first loss but it will not slow them down. Brees is just better than Sanchez.
San Diego Chargers (2-1) at Pittsburgh Steelers (1-2) - Pittsburgh
Another tough game actually. After watching Mike Tomlin last week after losing to the Bengals…I would not want to be the Steelers players right now. I am willing to bet some folks got their @$$ handed to them and the coaching staff got a huge chuck of @$$ removed as well. Look for the Steelers to play some serious smash mouth football.
St. Louis Rams (0-3) at San Francisco 49ers (2-1) - San Francisco
The Rams have been searching for a new identity for their team this year. They found it, the St Louis Lambs. Even without Gore, the 49ers will roll over the Lambs with ease.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-3) at Washington Redskins (1-2) - Washington
Who cares, you are damned if you do and damned if you don’t in this game. Next.
Tennessee Titans (0-3) at Jacksonville Jaguars (1-2) - Tennessee
The Titans are awful but I think they pull out a close victory against an even worse Jaguars team.
Oakland Raiders (1-2) at Houston Texans (1-2) - Houston
Houston defense sucks but playing the Raiders will make them feel a little better. Long day for the Raiders secondary this week.
Green Bay Packers (2-1) at Minnesota Vikings (3-0) - Minnesota
I am calling this the game of the week. Not because of the over played and blown out of proportion Farve -vs- The Packers, but because of the division title on the line. The Packers want to prove they deserve it and the Vikings want to prove they earned it and are not ready to hand it over yet. Everyone is calling for an all out air attack but I think Peterson/Taylor will own this game. Rogers will look good, but not good enough.
